Under the guidance of the rail transit construction plan, as of September 2018, Nanjing Metro has opened 10 operating lines, including Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 4, Line 10, Line S1, Line S3, Line S7, Line S8, and Line S9, with a total of 174 seats. The total length of the subway line is 378 kilometers, with a total of 174 stations, covering 11 cities in Nanjing. The new round of construction planning plan consists of the northern extension of Line 1, the west extension of Line 2, the third phase of Line 3, Line 5, Line 6, Line 7, the first phase of Line 9 and the second phase of Line 10, with a total of 157.2km. By 2020, including intercity rail transit and trams, 13 operating lines will be formed.
